Kohler Uninterruptible Power announces Engineers Ireland Registered Training Provider
05 September 2024
Kohler Uninterruptible Power (KUP) now has an Engineers Ireland Registered Training Provider, offering electrical engineers in Ireland CPD- approved face-to-face training courses and webinars.
KUP’s specialities include uninterruptible power supply (UPS) systems, with associated battery systems and related service, maintenance and repair and the company has announced a series of free training events for the Autumn and beyond.
The first of these is a webinar entitled ‘Getting the Elephant in the Room; Effective Design of resilient UPS facilities’ taking place at 12pm (GMT) on 18 September. In this free-to-attend webinar, Alex Emms, Technical Director at KUP will be discussing the challenges and solutions of installing and maintaining large UPS systems. The webinar is ideal for electrical engineers looking to better understand how to optimise a UPS system's performance while reducing their environmental impact.
Following the webinar is a face-to-face KUP Training Academy, which is being held at KUP’s Head office in Dublin from 9.30-4.30pm on 15 October. The CIBSE-accredited one-day training session will focus on the basics of uninterruptible power systems (UPS) and key considerations when operating in critical power settings. The course programme covers a basic history of UPS systems and considerations for choosing a UPS system. It also highlights battery systems, looking at design life and sizing, as well as focused sessions on Neutral Earth reference points and the use of transformers in circuits.
A further webinar is being held on the 5 November at 12pm GMT. In this session, ‘Charging Forward | Innovation in UPS Battery Systems’, attendees will do a deep-dive into the essentials of UPS battery requirements and best practices for maintenance and management. The course will cover the latest battery technologies as Alex compares and evaluates different options, empowering attendees to make informed decisions tailored to their specific needs.
“KUP’s solutions are the most reliable and efficient in the marketplace, best placed to meet customers’ needs - and we can also offer the flexibility to grow and scale as these needs evolve. We have been running CIBSE-approved training sessions and Academies across the UK for a while and the feedback we receive is always extremely positive. As part of our ongoing commitment to the Irish market, we wanted to develop our training opportunities further and offer a mix of online and face-to-face sessions, which were closer to home. We hope that electrical engineers across Ireland can join us for one, several or all of them,” said Mahon Devereux, General Manager of KUP (Ireland).
