Gallagher Security’s High Security Controller 7000 achieves UK and European cybersecurity compliance

12 January 2026

Gallagher Security announced that its High Security Controller 7000, known as the High Security C7000, has attained compliance with the UK National Protective Security Authority (NPSA) schemes for Automatic Access Control Systems (AACS) and Cyber Assurance of Physical Security Systems (CAPSS).

This certification positions the product as suitable for high-security environments where stringent cybersecurity and physical security standards are mandated.

The High Security C7000 builds on Gallagher’s existing Controller 7000 platform, incorporating enhanced cybersecurity features designed for organizations managing sensitive sites. The controller is compliant with the NPSA’s assurance schemes, which are established programs providing guidance and certification for security products used in protective settings. These schemes are aligned with broader government security requirements and are recognized across the UK and Europe, including the Five Eyes intelligence alliance.

Designed for higher assurance environments, the High Security C7000 features a microcontroller that is FIPS 140-3 approved, ensuring robust cryptographic security. The device enforces security policies via Gallagher’s Command Centre management platform, reporting local security events and utilizing authenticated, encrypted communications with connected sensors, alarm systems, and access readers. Gallagher emphasizes that the controller’s compliance and security measures are intended to meet the needs of organizations in critical sectors, including those operating in regulated and high-risk environments.

Jason Hunter, Gallagher’s High Security Manager for UKI, highlighted the increasing demand from enterprises operating in regulated sectors and critical infrastructure. “We’re seeing more organizations seeking solutions certified for use on critical national infrastructure,” Hunter explained. “These solutions help mitigate risks and ensure business continuity, giving organizations confidence that their physical security systems adhere to the highest standards of cybersecurity.”

Daniel McVeagh, Gallagher’s Value Stream Lead for High Security, emphasized that the C7000 surpasses the capabilities of the standard Controller 7000. “While the standard version offers excellent cybersecurity, the High Security C7000 is designed for government and commercial applications requiring compliance with rigorous security standards,” he said. The controller employs components compliant with FIPS 140-3 for advanced cryptography, further underlining its suitability for environments demanding high assurance.

The Controller 7000 range is IP-based, capable of managing local access control, intruder alarms, perimeter security, and business automation functions. It supports deployments ranging from single-door systems to large-scale installations with up to 10,000 controllers per server. The system can operate independently of the Gallagher Command Centre server, executing predefined responses during network outages, thus ensuring continuous security operations.

As physical security systems increasingly connect to corporate networks and remote management tools, compliance with NPSA and similar standards is becoming a key procurement criterion, especially for organizations responsible for critical infrastructure. Gallagher’s certification aims to meet this growing market demand for security solutions that integrate physical and cybersecurity assurances, helping organizations meet regulatory requirements and mitigate evolving threats.
