Northumberland County Council announces expanded partnership with Totalmobile

Northumberland County Council is set to enhance its digital infrastructure by extending its collaboration with Totalmobile.

Over the next three years, the Council will implement new solutions based on Totalmobile’s acclaimed Field First platform, aiming to improve the efficiency of its front-line teams. The upgrade is designed to streamline how staff manage and record their work, coordinate operations, and engage with residents, fostering a more responsive and transparent service environment.

The new system will enable real-time connectivity between staff and partner organizations, allowing instant updates that reduce delays and improve communication. This digital shift will also free up back-office personnel, enabling them to concentrate on more complex cases and ongoing service improvements. Additionally, both Council employees and residents will gain greater visibility and control over service delivery, contributing to a higher quality of support across the county.

Cllr Nick Oliver, the Cabinet Member for Finance and Value for Money, emphasized the importance of building on existing successes. “Our front-line teams do a fantastic job, and this partnership with Totalmobile helps us to give them the right tools to work more efficiently and deliver an even better experience for our residents,” he said. Oliver also highlighted plans to train more teams on the new technology as the deployment progresses, aiming to unlock further innovative uses of the software.

This initiative reflects a broader trend among UK local authorities embracing digital solutions to enhance service delivery. With more councils and housing providers seeking ways to connect teams, streamline processes, and improve resident experiences, Northumberland’s move underscores the sector’s shift towards smarter working practices.

David Webb, Managing Director of Housing at Totalmobile, praised the Council’s commitment. “Northumberland County Council has been a valued customer for many years, and this latest step shows their determination to deliver even better housing services for its tenants. By expanding their use of our Field First platform, they’ll be able to reduce delays, minimize wasted time, and make it easier for staff to focus on what truly matters,” Webb stated.

Totalmobile’s technology is trusted by nearly half of the UK’s top 50 housing providers, a testament to its proven ability to support improved service outcomes. The new phase of collaboration builds on the Council’s existing successes with Totalmobile’s software solutions across various service areas, promising a more efficient and resident-focused future.
