United Infrastructure’s Connected division has announced a significant new partnership with Cornerstone, the UK's leading digital infrastructure service provider.

Under this framework, United Infrastructure will become the exclusive provider of planned preventative maintenance and reactive repairs across more than 16,000 telecom sites nationwide, including in Northern Ireland and the Scottish Highlands and Islands. The agreement kicks off in May 2026 and aims to support the resilience and future growth of the UK’s vital mobile connectivity infrastructure.

Cornerstone’s Chief Network Officer, Andy Train, emphasized that safety, resilience, and quality were key factors in selecting United Infrastructure. He highlighted the company's alignment with Cornerstone’s safety-first culture and its operational discipline necessary to maintain the country’s largest passive infrastructure network, facilitate 5G rollout, and support future connectivity ambitions. “This framework is a cornerstone of our strategy to safeguard and develop the UK’s critical infrastructure, protecting communities, customers, partners, and landlords every day,” he said.

United Infrastructure will collaborate closely with Cornerstone to improve operational efficiency through enhanced visibility, streamlined reporting, and refined milestone tracking. The partnership also underscores a commitment to upholding industry-leading standards for health, safety, and secure site access across the telecom estate.

In addition, United Infrastructure plans to invest in talent development by creating new apprenticeship roles across both field and office-based functions, supporting the industry’s future workforce and fostering sustainable growth.

Scott MacGregor, Managing Director of United Infrastructure’s Connected division, expressed pride in being selected as Cornerstone’s sole partner for this nationwide maintenance program. “This framework reflects the strength of our business and our shared commitment to ensuring the reliability, resilience, and future-readiness of the UK's digital infrastructure. We look forward to working collaboratively to enhance network performance through smarter reporting, efficient delivery, and a focus on long-term asset sustainability,” he said.

This partnership marks a key step in maintaining and strengthening the UK's critical telecom infrastructure, ensuring it remains resilient and prepared for future technological advancements.
