Greenweaver plans Spode Works DC

04 November 2025

Plans have been submitted for a new data centre at the Spode Works site as part of a multi-million-pound expansion of the Potbank section of the factory.

The application, submitted by Spode Works Regeneration Ltd pertains to the development of Building 4A in the Potbank area.

The data centre is set to be operated by Greenweaver, a UK-based cloud provider launched earlier this year with a focus on sovereign, low-carbon AI and high-performance computing (HPC). The proposed site at Spode will offer up to 30MW of capacity, initially deploying a 500kW cluster of Nvidia H100 and RTX 4090 GPUs. The company plans to launch in Q1 2026, with an initial deployment in Lisbon, Portugal, scheduled for next year, and additional UK sites in Manchester, Birmingham, and Glasgow reportedly under consideration.

Greenweaver emphasises its commitment to sustainability by utilising direct-to-chip cooling and repurposing waste heat for local district heating networks. The company aims to build a network of modular, distributed AI/HPC data centres, with modules starting at 500kW and over 250MW of capacity already secured.
