Neos Networks and Zen Internet upgrade UK connectivity with 400Gbps Manchester-London link

Neos Networks, one of the UK’s leading providers of business connectivity, has strengthened its longstanding partnership with Zen Internet, the UK’s largest B Corp-certified telecoms provider, through a major upgrade to a 400Gbps fibre connection between Manchester and London.

This high-capacity corridor addresses the UK’s escalating bandwidth needs driven by increased data centre investments, AI adoption, and the rollout of full fibre networks nationwide.

The upgraded link is delivered over Neos Networks’ extensive fibre infrastructure, ensuring Zen’s core network is future-proofed for the demands ahead. In addition to the Manchester-London connection, Zen benefits from Neos’s enhanced core and exchange-backhaul services, which are vital for delivering ultrafast, resilient connectivity. These investments align with Zen’s goal to expand high-quality fibre access to more UK businesses and consumers, supporting the nation’s digital growth.

David Bruce, CRO of Neos Networks, highlighted the importance of advanced fibre infrastructure in supporting the UK’s AI initiatives. He noted that Zen’s ambition to become the leading alternative network aggregator complements the capabilities of Neos’s reliable backbone, creating an ecosystem that benefits the broader UK economy.

Earlier this year, Zen launched its Fibre Hub platform to improve access to nationwide connectivity by aggregating services from multiple alternative networks across the UK. The partnership with Neos is a key step in this strategy, enabling Zen to offer greater speed and choice as customer needs evolve with technological advancements.

John Lyons, Zen’s Technical Director, emphasized the strength of the collaboration, citing Neos’s agility, rapid provisioning, and shared engineering standards such as equipment duplication and diverse routing, which ensure high reliability and performance standards for customers. He added that their open communication and joint approach allow them to deliver networks that consistently meet user expectations.

Both companies are committed to expanding their partnership beyond the current 400Gbps link, aiming to keep pace with the UK’s growing digital ambitions by continually enhancing fibre accessibility and capacity.
