Veeam and HPE have deepened their strategic alliance with a new integration between the Veeam Data Platform and HPE Morpheus VM Essentials Software, aiming to enhance data protection, resilience, and recovery for enterprise customers.

This collaboration introduces image-based backup support for HPE Morpheus VM Essentials, enabling seamless virtual machine migration and data portability across various hypervisor environments. Building on their longstanding partnership, the joint effort focuses on delivering unified data management and simplified operations for organizations operating within complex, multi-cloud IT landscapes.

By integrating the Veeam Data Platform with HPE Morpheus VM Essentials, organizations will benefit from a more cohesive solution to safeguard critical applications and data across private and hybrid cloud infrastructures.

"Data is an organisation's most valuable asset — and often its most vulnerable. Through our combined efforts, HPE and Veeam are delivering integrated virtualization and data protection solutions that are prepared for the future, providing the resilience and agility necessary to evolve hybrid IT strategies,” said Fidelma Russo, EVP of Hybrid Cloud and CTO at HPE.

The solution is designed to offer unified protection for HPE Private Cloud users and standalone servers alike, supporting multiple hypervisors and enabling VM mobility. Additionally, organizations can achieve significant cost savings—up to 90% reduction in VM licensing expenses.

"IT environments are becoming more complex, and cyber risks are constantly evolving. Data resilience can no longer be an afterthought. Our strengthened partnership ensures businesses can deploy enterprise-grade virtualization solutions from HPE with Veeam's backup, recovery, security, and intelligence, fortifying their data resilience and keeping operations running smoothly,” said Anand Eswaran, CEO of Veeam.

Both firms emphasize support for modern workloads. Veeam's Kasten solution will provide backup and recovery for containerized and cloud-native applications, complementing the broader integration with Morpheus Software and HPE Zerto Software. This combined approach enables organizations to protect virtual, containerized, and bare-metal workloads comprehensively.

To further assist enterprises, HPE and Veeam have launched a joint initiative called "Data Resilience by Design." This framework encourages a proactive, holistic approach to securing and ensuring high availability of data through advanced technology and expert advisory services. As part of this program, the companies will offer cybersecurity and cyber resilience transformation services, helping organizations assess, strengthen, and future-proof their data protection strategies.

Addressing the rising sophistication of cyber threats, the initiative underscores the importance of integrated security across private and hybrid cloud environments. The partnership combines HPE’s expertise in hybrid IT and cybersecurity with Veeam’s capabilities in backup, recovery, and data intelligence.

With this expanded collaboration, HPE and Veeam aim to support organizations in managing increased cyber risks and evolving IT demands. Their integrated solutions are designed to enable secure, resilient, and accessible data management across diverse environments, empowering enterprises to navigate the complexities of modern operational and security challenges effectively.
