The adoption of Exponential-e’s secure private cloud solution will facilitate the connection and integration of data from all five sites, streamlining collaboration and fostering innovation across the network. With over 39 million tests conducted annually, the upgraded infrastructure will simplify processes for obtaining second opinions, support specialist referrals, and ensure robust business continuity. Moreover, the cloud environment will lay the groundwork for integrating Artificial Intelligence (AI) technologies, which have the potential to revolutionize the delivery of pathology services.
"Our vision is to deliver the most effective model of pathology for the South West Peninsula, ensuring clinical pathways reliant on these services are as efficient and impactful as possible. Centralizing our storage environment enables us to maximize resources and focus them where they are needed most, enhancing the productivity of our laboratories,” said David Gibbs, Pathology Network Director at Peninsula Pathology Network.
The selection of Exponential-e’s private cloud solution was guided by key considerations of security, resilience, and affordability. Tailored through a framework agreement to address Peninsula's unique needs, Exponential-e’s expertise in managing cybersecurity challenges and its role as the infrastructure provider for the National Pathology Imaging Co-operative (NPIC) made it an ideal partner for this initiative.
"We’re proud to support the Peninsula Pathology Network in its digital pathology journey. By centrally hosting data from multiple sites, we’re enabling the network to streamline operations, enhance collaboration, and lay the groundwork for future innovations in pathology. Our solution ensures the resilience, security, and scalability necessary to meet the growing demands of modern healthcare,” said Afshin Attari, Senior Director of Public Sector and Unified Platforms at Exponential-e.
Transitioning to a unified digital infrastructure positions the Peninsula Pathology Network to create a more sustainable model for service delivery, ultimately ensuring long-term viability and enabling the organization to meet the evolving needs of both patients and clinicians.
