The new network will focus on serving both the company’s offices and communal areas, aiming to support residents and combat digital exclusion while also enabling staff to perform their duties more effectively. The rollout is already underway, with hundreds of residents connected to the service at over 200 live sites.
In addition to the connectivity provided by Wifinity, Anchor’s ‘Be Well’ service offers various resources to promote residents' well-being, both online and offline. The investment in Wi-Fi will encourage more residents to engage with this service. The ‘Be Digital’ initiative, part of Be Well, offers digital support to enrolled residents, helping them connect with loved ones and enhance their digital skills.
“The connectivity will allow us to support our colleagues with the technology and systems necessary to improve every aspect of the service we provide to residents. This initiative will offer tremendous benefits to our residents, irrespective of their online status, and will play a vital role in addressing the significant challenge of digital poverty. Importantly, coupled with our adoption of the Plentific platform for managing repairs and planned work and our broader digital and data strategy, it promotes more modern and efficient methods of ensuring that residents have safe, well-maintained homes,” said Anchor CEO Sarah Jones. “We chose to partner with Wifinity because they demonstrated the ability to deliver at the scale and pace we required. By creating our corporate network for staff and building management systems, and by taking the time to understand and cater to our residents’ needs, Wifinity is optimizing costs while improving our residents' experiences.”
“We are thrilled to have been selected by Anchor to participate in this digital transformation. The scale and ambition of this program are significant, and it will make a considerable difference to many people. Beyond the installation, we are assisting residents in becoming active online users, enabling them to access vital services like video consultations with health professionals, ordering prescriptions, and connecting with family members,” said Costas Demetriou, CEO of Wifinity.
