Davenham Switchgear expands operations with new Nottingham site

11 March 2025

Davenham Switchgear, a brand of Legrand and a prominent supplier of low-voltage (LV) switchgear for the hyperscale data centre market, has announced the establishment of its new global manufacturing site in Nottingham.

With over 40 years of experience rooted in its Dublin headquarters, where approximately 350 staff operate, Davenham has solidified its reputation as a key player in powering hyperscale data centres worldwide. The new facility, spanning 100,000 square feet at Fairham Business Park, was secured through a partnership facilitated by FHP Property Consultants on behalf of global real estate investment manager Hines. The manufacturing site will produce advanced LV switchgear essential for the largest data centre operators, a technology critical to the advancement of AI and cloud computing.

Nottingham was selected due to its excellent transport links, robust local labour market, and the availability of high-quality facilities, making it an ideal location for Davenham’s next phase of growth. The expansion is set to create over 100 new jobs, further bolstering the region's advanced manufacturing sector.

“We’re excited to bring Davenham Switchgear to Nottingham, with our new site opening later this year. Nottingham’s strong transport links, academic talent, and innovative business community make it the perfect location for us to enhance our manufacturing capabilities. With our established reputation in Ireland for delivering cutting-edge solutions, we look forward to joining the thriving business scene in Nottingham and the wider Midlands region. If you’re interested in being part of a team that drives forward a modern, digital economy, we’d love to hear from you,” said Tom Nicholson, Chief Executive Officer of Davenham Switchgear.

“The letting of over 100,000 square feet in Nottingham’s foremost business location, Fairham Business Park, is a significant boost for Nottingham and the wider region. I am delighted that we successfully secured Davenham Switchgear as an occupier on behalf of our clients, Hines, as it brings jobs and investment to the area while complementing the strong occupier line-up already present at the business park,” said Tim Gilbertson, Equity Director of FHP Property Consultants.
