As cyber threats become increasingly sophisticated, the UK Defence sector supply chain faces significant risks that could compromise the operational integrity and development of national defence systems. This partnership combines CYSIAM's extensive UK-based expertise in incident response and managed security services with CrowdStrike’s industry-leading threat intelligence, AI-powered endpoint security, and Falcon® Next-Gen SIEM. Together, they will deliver proactive, real-time defence capabilities to combat advanced cyber threats.
The UK Ministry of Defence has placed an increased emphasis on cyber resilience, introducing updated guidance and compliance standards for its supply chain. This importance was recently reiterated to Defence Sector CEOs and Business Leaders in a letter from the Second Permanent Secretary, DG Chief Information Officer, and DG Commercial, highlighting the urgency of implementing the new Cyber Security Standard for Suppliers (DEF STAN 05-138 Issue 4 Cyber Security for Defence Suppliers).
“CYSIAM is dedicated to fortifying the UK Defence sector supply chain, which is the backbone of our national security. It is crucial that this sector remains resilient amid escalating cyber threats,” said David Allan, CEO of CYSIAM. “Through our partnership with CrowdStrike, we are ensuring that our clients gain access to best-in-class technology and services, which will help them protect their assets and operations while demonstrating compliance with risk-based procurement standards. This collaboration underscores our shared commitment to enhancing the UK’s cyber defences at every level.”
“CYSIAM’s profound understanding of the UK Defence sector and the dynamics of the supply chain aligns seamlessly with CrowdStrike’s mission to eliminate breaches. Together, we are delivering a security-first approach that empowers defence organizations to anticipate, detect, and respond effectively to adversaries in an increasingly complex threat landscape,” said Ben Emslie, Vice President of Sales for Northern Europe at CrowdStrike.
The partnership aims to deliver tailored cybersecurity solutions that align closely with the UK Ministry of Defence’s requirements and regulations, ultimately supporting compliance and operational excellence. Furthermore, it will contribute to ongoing efforts to enhance the resilience of the UK’s critical defence supply chain against both current and emerging cyber threats.
