MDS – the cloud-based charging, billing and customer management solutions provider – says its office-support services business has been growing faster than its main offering.
“The back-office business is a hugely growing part of MDS,” says Jennifer Fellows, SVP product management for MDS, whose clients include BT, Telefonica O2, TalkTalk Business, and others.
She says operators give MDS the responsibility for back-office operations while they concentrate on getting the product to market. “It’s all about agile solutions, not really about costs,” says Fellows.
“If an operator wants to come up with something quick, we’re the focus to do that. They don't have to worry about it, they can focus on the marketing of their new service. We work behind the scenes to get it done in days or weeks, instead of months.”
Fellows says the company will be exhibiting at the Mobile World Congress, in Barcelona, from March 2 to 5, 2015. MDS hopes to spur growth in its business off the back of a good show, and continue to develop different sectors of its business.
“Billing systems in general, the market has been growing more slowly over the last several years,” says Fellows. “The key growth within our segment is real-time charging and billing, and the managed services side.”
