Leeds Building Society partners with AND Digital to upskill developers

Leeds Building Society (LBS) has teamed up with AND Digital to deliver a specialised training programme designed to upskill and reskill its development team in preparation for transitioning to a new core banking platform.
The collaboration aimed to equip LBS developers with the latest technical skills required to meet the demands of modern financial services, running from June through October.
Through this partnership, AND Digital played a pivotal role in enhancing the productivity and technical expertise of LBS’s workforce. The programme was carefully tailored to ensure developers could effectively support the organisation’s digital transformation while safeguarding critical in-house business intelligence. As LBS prepares to adopt the new platform, the need for skilled developers has grown, especially as older technologies become increasingly outdated and less relevant.
The initiative was focused on empowering the teams with real-world experience by applying their newly acquired skills directly to live projects. This approach allowed the developers to deliver results more swiftly and efficiently, taking on more complex tasks without compromising quality. The outcome has been a more agile, capable team that is better positioned to support the organisation’s ongoing success and to maintain a deep understanding of both business processes and customer needs.
“At Leeds Building Society, investing in our people is vital to delivering value to our members and communities. Our partnership with AND Digital ensures our developers not only enhance our technical capabilities but also stay agile, innovative, and competitive, all while prioritising the needs of our community,” said Jay Patel, Chief Technology Officer at Leeds Building Society.
Furthermore, AND Digital facilitated a smooth transition to the new core banking system by preparing LBS developers to handle emerging technologies effectively. This strategic training helps optimise resource allocation, reduce reliance on external talent, and ensure organisational continuity throughout the digital transformation journey.
