NinjaOne, unifying IT to simplify work, has announced significant momentum for NinjaOne Backup, with more than 15,000 customers now relying on the solution to protect their endpoints, servers and SaaS applications.

The growth reflects increasing demand from IT teams and managed service providers (MSPs) for backup and recovery to be embedded within a unified IT operations platform, where shared context and streamlined workflows reduce complexity, improve efficiency, and lead to faster recovery times and stronger resilience.

NinjaOne Backup embeds device backup and SaaS backup directly into the NinjaOne Unified IT Operations Platform. NinjaOne Backup leverages the platform’s lightweight, unified agent so every managed device is backup ready. Alongside NinjaOne Device Backup, NinjaOne SaaS Backup protects the cloud applications organisations depend on (Microsoft 365, Google Workspace and Microsoft Entra) with automated backups, granular recovery and compliance controls.

With one console, organisations get complete visibility into the health of their backups across every workload, with the automation and controls they need to protect data, meet compliance requirements, and recover quickly.

Recent updates make NinjaOne Backup faster and more comprehensive, including:

  • New backup engine delivers added storage efficiency gains – NinjaOne’s redesigned backup engine uses less storage than its predecessor, has deduplication visibility built in, and accelerates backup and recovery speeds. The new engine saves MSPs and IT teams time spent on manual work, so they can focus on more strategic projects.
  • AI-driven Boot Verification automates recoverability validation – NinjaOne’s new Boot Verify feature automatically tests the recoverability of backup images by booting them in a virtual environment and using AI to analyse outcomes and detect anomalies. This provides teams with confidence and peace of mind in knowing their backups can be restored and eliminates the need for manual testing, giving organisations time back.
  • Expanded compliance controls – NinjaOne now offers long-term image backup retention options of up to 10 years and automated alerts, so technicians know if retention policies are lowered. The solution also enforces multi-factor authentication for high-risk actions in the backup portal. These features simplify compliance and give organisations confidence in their backups.

Matt Hastings, SVP, product management, NinjaOne, said: “IT teams and MSPs have enough on their plates without having to manage backups as a standalone, siloed workflow. NinjaOne Backup gives them time back with faster backups, less storage overhead, and simpler compliance. Our customers are already using that time to take on more clients and strategic work.”

Alex Taguchi, technology services manager, Hawk Ridge Systems, said: “As a lean IT team, we can’t afford to spend hours managing and validating backups manually. NinjaOne simplified our device and SaaS backup, freeing up time and resources for more complex work. Now, monitoring, verification, and recovery are all in the same platform we already use every day. And knowing that Boot Verify is automatically testing our backups and flagging issues before we need to restore gives us a new level of confidence in our recoverability.”
