MLL Telecom secures £500,000 contract to upgrade Moat’s housing alarm systems to fibre

04 November 2025

Managed network service provider MLL Telecom has announced the award of an initial three-year contract valued at approximately £500,000 from Moat, a prominent UK housing association.

The contract, secured through the YPO Framework, also includes an option for extension for a further two years if needed. The project aims to modernise Moat’s alarm and security systems by replacing existing BT copper lines with high-speed fibre optic circuits across multiple social housing sites.

Moat provides affordable rented and shared ownership homes to over 23,000 families and individuals across Kent, Essex, Sussex, and London. The upgrade, expected to be completed by mid-2026, involves transitioning the existing copper connections at 83 social housing sites to Fibre-to-the-Premises (FTTP) and Fibre-to-the-Cabinet (FTTC) networks. MLL will collaborate closely with Moat’s Lifeline Services provider, which manages the housing association’s alarm and sensor solutions that monitor property security, lifts, smoke detection, flooding, and personal wellbeing.
