The Allegro Network Multimeter x400 Series

Network analysis specialist Allegro Packets is expanding its product family with appliances featuring 192 TB of storage on a 2U chassis: the Allegro Network Multimeter 1400, 3400 and 5400.

The Allegro Network Multimeters from Allegro Packets are measurement instruments for detailed analysis of network traffic of all sizes. This Allegro x400 series is positioned between the Allegro x300 1U series and the Allegro x500 4U series. The new series complements the family of the Allegro Network Multimeters and reinforces Allegro Packets' technological leadership in network measurement and analysis.

The Allegro x400 series consists of three appliances: Allegro 1400, Allegro 3400 and Allegro 5400. Just 2U high, the new appliances have 192 TB of storage for recording capture rates of up to 10 GBit/s for 3.5" HDDs or up to 80 GBit/s for SSDs in 10G / 40G / 100G / 200G network traffic.

The analysis and monitoring tools in this series are equipped with 12 x 3.5" HDD slots. Up to seven measurement cards with 1G to 200G ports are supported. These can be equipped with up to four additional ports each, for a total of up to 28 ports. The In-memory database can be expanded up to 4TB and the integrated packet ring buffer can be expanded by petabytes with the Allegro JBODs. The devices in the series differ only in memory and performance.

The software is identical for all Allegro Packets appliances. The x400 series is designed for very high capture recording, analysis and storage rates and can therefore be optimally deployed in ISPs, data centres and core networks.
