Over 3,500 front-line officers and staff of Lancashire Constabulary are spending more time on the streets and in communities, thanks to innovative technology solutions.
The force has extended its contract for the digital policing app Pronto until 2029. Pronto enables officers to access records and file reports from anywhere, replacing traditional police notebooks. Additionally, Lancashire has purchased 1,750 new body cameras to enhance evidence collection. These Motorola Solutions technologies provide officers with critical information to support faster, more effective policing while freeing up valuable time for community engagement.
Lancashire was among the first police forces globally to adopt Pronto. A recent survey of officers highlights its value in improving operational efficiency, with most respondents rating the app as ‘highly valuable’ and ‘easy to use.’ Designed for quick and reliable use in the field, Pronto allows officers to record and access information without returning to the station, including using voice commands to safely access records and file reports from their vehicles without taking their eyes off the road.

We aim to channel all data collection through Pronto as part of our ongoing modernization efforts to make our communities safer.”
Officers also credit body cameras for capturing stronger evidence and offering increased protection. The force will soon upgrade its Motorola VB400 body cameras to V500 models, providing control rooms with live-streaming visibility of unfolding incidents. They have also deployed Motorola’s M500 in-car video systems across their fleet.

Both the V500 and M500 integrate seamlessly with Pronto and are supported by Motorola’s VideoManager evidence management software, ensuring secure handling, storage, and sharing of evidence.
