Clarus Networks Group appoints Stuart Castell as Chief Revenue Officer

Clarus Networks Group has appointed Stuart Castell as Chief Revenue Officer (CRO) as the business accelerates its global growth strategy and strengthens its position in enterprise connectivity and low Earth orbit (LEO) technology.

Stuart returned to Clarus earlier this year as Commercial Director, having previously worked with the business and built much of his career in satellite communications and technology.

During his career, Stuart has held several C-suite positions and has also founded, owned and operated his own successful satellite communications business. That combination of executive leadership, sector expertise and first-hand experience of building and running a business brings an important perspective as Clarus enters its next stage of growth.

His appointment as CRO has come considerably faster than initially anticipated, reflecting the impact he has made since returning to Clarus and the increasingly important role he is already playing in shaping the Group’s commercial strategy.

As CRO, Stuart will take overall leadership of revenue generation across Clarus, including sales strategy, commercial performance, go-to-market execution, strategic accounts, channel development and international growth.

This comes at a significant point in the Clarus journey as the business moves forward with LEO Fabric – the next evolution of Clarus.

As the enterprise connectivity market evolves, Clarus is building on its established approach to integrated connectivity, bringing networks, technologies and managed services together around the needs of the customer. LEO Fabric represents the next stage of this strategy.

Debra Phillips, Chief Commercial Officer and Co-Founder of Clarus Networks Group, said:

“Stuart’s experience is clearly an important part of the decision, but for me this appointment is about much more than his CV. He understands Clarus, how we operate, the culture we have built and our ambition to do things differently. He has the commercial experience to challenge our thinking but also understands the realities of building and growing a business.

“We work extremely well together, and Stuart is already playing an important role in shaping our sales organisation, refining our go-to-market strategy and helping us navigate some of the bigger commercial and strategic decisions across the Group.

“We are entering probably the most exciting stage Clarus has been through. LEO is changing the connectivity market incredibly quickly, we are building LEO Fabric around that opportunity and we are expanding internationally.

“Ultimately, this appointment is as much about cultural fit and trust as it is about experience. Stuart understands what we are trying to build, he challenges our thinking and he brings a perspective that will add real value as the business continues to scale.”

Stuart Castell, Chief Revenue Officer at Clarus Networks Group, added:

“Coming back to Clarus was an opportunity to rejoin a business I already knew well, but what has really stood out since returning is the scale of the opportunity ahead of us.

“What excites me most is that we are not looking at the market and asking how we can do more of the same. We are looking at how new technologies fundamentally change what is possible for our customers and how we build services around those technologies that solve real enterprise problems.

“LEO Fabric is a great example of that. Low Earth Orbit connectivity is only one part of the story. Bringing together multiple LEO networks with private networking, SD-WAN, cloud, edge technologies and intelligent orchestration creates a much more powerful proposition for enterprise customers.

“The opportunity is global and cuts across the industries we operate in today, while also opening up entirely new markets for the Group.

“There is a huge amount still to build, which is exactly what makes the opportunity so exciting. I’m looking forward to working with Derek, Debra and the wider team to turn that strategy into sustainable growth and establish Clarus at the forefront of the next generation of enterprise connectivity.”
